Welcome

… and enjoy

Welcome to my photoblog. My first photoblog saw the light of day in 2009. After a redesign in 2015, because the old one no longer worked, it was time to start something new again.

I hope you like it here and get some inspiration.

About

Photography has accompanied me for over 50 years. It all started with an analogue Minolta SRT 101. First B/W prints, later slides and since 2007 completely digital.

I don’t want to go into the question of what equipment I work with. That’s absolutely irrelevant. The most important part of the camera sits between my ears. My brain, given to me by my Creator, produces the image. I don’t like pointless discussions from fanboys who are always debating which brand is better. This is the famous bunny hedgehog game. At a certain time, one manufacturer is always ahead until the other follows. It is a total fallacy to believe that expensive equipment will produce better images. It is much more important to sharpen one’s senses and to walk attentively through our creation. Then the rest follows almost automatically. Don’t compare yourself to others, go your own way and be happy with the results. I learned to take pictures for myself, not for others.

I edit my images (RAW) in image editing software and try to incorporate my ideas and emotions. For some, that’s a step too far. Anyone who thinks that analogue photography is pure is very wrong. There are also image manipulations here, working with different liquids and processes (e.g. dodging). Here, too, the developer intervenes. In this respect, it is legitimate to have an influence in the digital area as well.
